Most properties in the Jacksonville Florida area have slab-on-grade foundations, which means that there is a concrete slab level with the surrounding soil. This means that all of the piping (gas, water, sewer) are likely running underneath and sometimes inside of the concrete. When a leak happens here, it is called a slab leak.

Though it may mean much more piping, it still can be much more cost effective than jack hammering the concrete slab, fixing the problem, and then restoring the concrete and matching the exciting floor covering that was there!

Another advantage of re-piping and re-routing the plumbing lines is that future inspection and repair is much easier to handle if there is ever a future problem.

Pipe Lining

If the leaks are minor, another solution when repairing a slab leak is to line the inside of the pipes with a coating to cover any pinholes in copper piping or other minor leaks in main sewer lines.
